Ministries and Missions

The Church's auxiliaries, committees and individual members have been involved in the following projects or responsibilities.

 

 

MISSIONARY/MATRONS- Mable Robinson

 

     1. Quarterly donations of tissue, latex gloves and wipes to Auburn Day Care Centers, Inc.

     2. Visitations to Oak Park Nursing Home, Arbor Springs Nursing Home and Dadeville Health Care Center.

     3. Donated socks and tee shirts to some inmates of Lee County Detention Center and some nursing home residents at Christmas.

 

BASS-MUSE-YOUNG SINGERS – Gwen Echols

 

      1.   Provides snacks in the waiting room area, each month, for families of patients in the Intensive Care Unit of East Alabama Medical Center.

 

MEDIA – George Echols

 

      1.  Provides weekly audio recordings of the morning worship services for sick and shut-in  members.  Audio recordings are made available for members to purchase.

 

GRIEF MINISTRY- Evelyn Foster and Mildred Brooks

 

      1.  Donates a grief basket to the member of our congregation who had an immediate family  member to pass.

 

YOUTH DEPARTMENT

 

     1. Collects and distributes food to the East Alabama Food Bank on a quarterly basis.

 

SUNDAY SCHOOL -Dwight Howard

 

     1. Collects and distributes food for elderly, sick and shut-in at Thanksgiving.

 

ANGEL TREE MINISTRY-  Evelyn Foster

 

      1.  Provides a Christmas gift for a child of incarcerated parents.

 

WELFARE  MINISTRY – Charlotte Wilson

 

      1.  Get Well and sympathy cards are mailed to members as deemed appropriate,

 

CULINARY- Cary Torbert

 

      1. Coordinates and provides food for fellowship at various occasions.  Distributes food to community members who are unable to attend and fellowship during these times.

 

BEAUTIFICATION MINISTRY- Dorothy Stephens

 

     1. Provides flowers and care for plants in the sanctuary and other areas of the church.

 

MUSIC MINISTRY- Evelyn Foster and Roxie Jones

 

      1.  Coordinates and provides music for Sunday morning worship service and other worship services.

 

TRANSPORTATION- George Echols

 

       1.  Coordinates and /or provides transportation for members when visiting other churches.

 

COURTESY

 

      1. Greets and welcomes members and visitors who attend worship services and programs.

 

PASTOR'S AID MINISTRY- Bernice Howard

 

      1.  Provides aid to the Pastor as needed.
